Two of Brisbane’s premier arts communities have joined forces, strengthening the prominence of the arts within the River City.
The Paint Factory has joined forces with Creative Brisbane Collab.(CBC), a new initiative to bring the corporate and creative sectors together.
CBC’s vision is bold — Brisbane: the place to be. They aim to create a global city where creativity is valued, and imagination empowered. Where innovation and collaboration drive a thriving economy and vibrant communities.
By becoming a member of CBC, The Paint Factory will be linked into events, news, emerging talent and trends within the sector, allowing it to further its offering to the local community and the rest of the city.
The move is significant with many synergies between the two entities: both seek to increase access to the arts, create more spaces for artists to hone their craft and promote art in all its guises to the community.
The Paint Factory supports CBC’s purpose to see Brisbane recognised as a global city of creativity.
Currently, The Paint Factory is a destination for local and international artists who require a unique space to create. This includes visual artists, music videos, photography and film shoots and pop up events, to name a few activities.
After extensive community and stakeholder engagement, The Paint Factory is preparing to lodge plans with Brisbane City Council which will see the formalisation of this organic community and the creation of Australia’s first fully integrated arts village.
The new plans will see a new village which could include art studios, live performance spaces, a cafe, craft brewery, restaurants, green space and residences, creating a unique environment where people can meaningfully engage in Brisbane’s lively arts scene, while relaxing, socialising and living within the Hyde Road precinct.
